We are extremely proud of our program alumni once again. The NHL Draft 2019 held this past weekend highlighted a Jr. Coyote alumni, Mark Kastelic. Mark was drafted in this year's NHL draft in the 5th round, 125th overall to Ottawa Senators.

Mark joins another former Jr. Coyotes alumnus, Todd Burgess, who was selected in the 4th round by the Ottawa Senators in 2016. Kastelic (‘99) played 2 seasons in the program before moving upwards to major junior hockey for the Calgary Hitmen of the W.H.L. Mark has been playing for the Hitmen since advancing from our program in 2015. Kastelic tore up the league last year with a team-leading 47 goals and 30 assists in just 66 WHL games. He finished a strong career with the Hitmen this May, after playing in 265 games spread over 4 seasons leading into this past season where he received the "C" on his sweater.

Mark played for the Jr. Coyotes from 2013-2015 and played on the strong 14U Bantam and 16U Midget Jr. Coyote teams. Kastelic will begin the process of signing an entry-level contract with the Senators soon, and continuing his development with a goal of making his first NHL game appearance someday soon. The CAHA program wishes our former player all the best in the future!

We are very proud and excited for your Mark - Congratulations!
